Project Overview

The Modern EdTech Website for Online Courses is a responsive, user-friendly platform built to support structured online learning. Designed for educators, institutes, and independent creators, the system allows users to explore courses, view lesson structures, engage with educational content, and seamlessly navigate between modules.

The client is an education company offering professional certification courses. Their old website was a static HTML site with course information in PDF brochures — students couldn't browse course structures, compare options, or register online. All enrollments happened through phone calls and WhatsApp, and the client was losing students to competitors with polished online experiences.

We built a dynamic course catalog using ReactJS for the frontend, Spring Boot for the backend API, and MongoDB for flexible course content storage (courses have varying structures — some have modules, chapters, and lessons; others have live sessions and recorded replays). gRPC handles real-time notifications for enrollment confirmations and course updates.

The website focuses on performance, clean design, intuitive course browsing, and a smooth user journey — making learning feel simple, engaging, and accessible across all devices. Since launch, course inquiries increased by 41% and the bounce rate dropped from 65% to 28%.

The Challenges

The problem we faced.

Learners struggled to understand course flow, lesson breakdowns, and key outcomes — the old site had a single paragraph description for each course with no module structure, no duration info, and no learning path visibility.

Navigation felt cluttered and unfriendly, making it hard for users to explore content — courses from different categories were mixed on a single page with no filtering, sorting, or comparison capability.

Slow loading and inconsistent layouts affected a majority of mobile learners — the site took 7+ seconds to load on mobile networks, and course images didn't resize properly on smaller screens.

Educators could not effectively highlight course benefits, instructor details, or testimonials — there was no structured way to present instructor credentials, student success stories, or course ratings.

The enrollment process was entirely offline (phone/WhatsApp) with no online registration, no payment integration, and no automated confirmation — leading to lost enrollments when the office was closed.

There was no analytics on which courses attracted the most interest, where students dropped off in the browsing journey, or which marketing channels drove the most enrollments.

The Solutions

What we built instead.

Structured course pages with lesson-by-lesson breakdown, clear course objectives and outcomes, instructor profiles with credentials and experience, visual highlights with progress indicators, and downloadable course brochures for offline sharing.

A seamless navigation experience with category-based browsing (technology, business, design, etc.), difficulty-level filters, duration-based sorting, smooth page transitions, clean content hierarchy, and a comparison view for similar courses.

Mobile-first EdTech architecture with fast loading for videos and images (lazy loading, adaptive quality), optimized layouts for mobile users with thumb-friendly interactions, and a responsive, touch-friendly UI that scores 98% on Google Mobile-Friendly Test.

Conversion-optimized landing pages with simplified sign-up steps (name, email, course — three fields), strong CTAs positioned above the fold, social proof sections with student testimonials and success metrics, and urgency elements for limited-enrollment courses.

Online enrollment with integrated payment processing (Razorpay), automated enrollment confirmations via email and SMS, downloadable receipt generation, and a student dashboard for tracking enrolled courses.

Analytics integration with Google Analytics 4 and custom event tracking for course page views, enrollment funnel drop-offs, popular course categories, and traffic source attribution — giving the client data-driven insights for course planning and marketing.
